The SWE Graduate Community Leadership Team is looking for motivated and passionate people to serve as new coordinators and liaisons for FY23, with roles starting in July 2022. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the SWE Grad Community! Potential positions include:
- Graduate Member Coordinator-Elect (GMC-E): Assists the Graduate Member Coordinator in fostering strong community and a network for graduate students in SWE by facilitating communication between graduate students in SWE and SWE graduate students groups, and by representing the interests of graduate students to the Society. Note: this position has a two-year commitment and is through the separate SWE FY23 Leadership Application.
- Learning Content Coordinator (LCC): Hosts webinars for the graduate student community through the year. Also develops YouTube videos and other learning content.
- Communications Coordinator (CC): Ensures that the gradswe.swe.org site and other online outlets are up-to-date; coordinates newsletters and blog posts for the Graduate Community.
- Social Media Coordinator (SMC): Ensures current and up-to-date communication and engagement through social media and other online outlets.
- Mentoring Coordinator (MC): Facilitates the GradSWE Mentoring Program along with other supporting members.
- WE Local Programming Liaison (LPL): Assists in facilitating a positive experience for graduate students at WE Local conferences.
- International Graduate Team Leader (IGTL): Creates resources for international graduates students, and aids in the efforts of GradSWE globalization.
- Diversity and Inclusion Liaison (DIL): Promotes the support of minority groups in STEM fields. Facilitates relationships between affiliate groups and graduate student members for this effort.
- Affinity Group Liaison (AGL): Serves as a point of contact between the GradSWE Leadership Team and all other SWE affinity groups. Presents interests on behalf of our group during affinity group meetings to other leaders.
- Professional Graduate Team Leader (PGTL): Creates resources for students that are working full time while pursuing a graduate degree. The PGTL also assists with developing webinars and content to help graduate students with professional development.
The Process
Applications for the SWE Graduate Leadership Team are due by April 8, 2022 11:59PM EST (midnight) for all positions EXCEPT Graduate Member Coordinator-Elect which is a separate application.

Note that all positions except GMC-Elect require the SWE Grad application, and the GMC-Elect position requires only the SWE HQ application due April 1st. The application link is HERE
