We are pleased to introduce Urjoshi Sinha, a reviewer/judge for the 2022 GradSWE Outstanding Individual Awards and a mentor (for graduate and undergraduate students) at SWE! Urjoshi is also a leader for women in engineering elsewhere: she received the 2021 IEEE Women in Services Computing (WISC) Scholarship and she was selected for a full travel and participation scholarship for the 2022 Computing Research Association Grad Cohort for Women (CRA-WP) IDEALS Workshop.
Urjoshi's primary research focuses on Automated Software Testing. Additionally, she is also interested in optimization using genetic algorithms and database systems. Her work involves leveraging domain-specific techniques to develop frameworks for understanding software configuration-interaction faults that exist in highly customizable and data-driven tools. In her research she explores the configurability issue in various software subjects from diverse domains such as in bioinformatics and in autonomous systems involving drones.
Urjoshi has been a English/Bengali language translator working with the TED community since 2016. She was invited to attend the TED 2019 conference in Vancouver, Canada as one of the 12 members of the TED-translator language delegate selected from amongst several international applicants.
In the future, Urjoshi would love to work in a research industry with a focus on developing solutions to help end-users navigate the complexity of software which bear a large number of configurations.
In her free time, Urjoshi enjoys cooking, hiking and yoga.
Fun fact: Urjoshi has completed the Goechala trek all the way up to the Mt. Kanchenjunga (the world's third highest mountain) base camp!
