We are proud to introduce another competitor in the WE Local Albuquerque Graduate Collegiate Competition, Ameyalli Santibañez! Ameyalli was an active member of the ASU GradSWE group, serving on both the Mentorship Committee and the Conference Committee. After graduating, Ameyalli recently joined the SWE Phoenix, Arizona section!
Ameyalli’s research topic was Identifying Pathways of Disruption Between Key Infrastructure Systems in Phoenix, Arizona During an Extreme Flooding Event. Extreme weather in Phoenix, Arizona is expected to be more intense bursts that are less frequent as climate change affects monsoon patterns.
Ameyalli is currently considering PhD programs in the Civil Sustainable Engineering Sector. She hopes to find ways to implement sustainable strategies into the current role she has as a water resources engineer!
In her spare time, Ameyalli likes to spend time with friends and family. She also practices portrait and landscape photography in her free time!
