Ask GradSWE a question! This is where you'll find answers to some commonly asked questions about the SWE Graduate Community.
1. How can I become a SWE member?
As a graduate student, you can purchase a 1 year collegiate membership for $20. You can also buy a C2C (Collegiate 2 Career) membership for $50 which will cover a membership throughout the entirety of your educational years plus an additional year of your first "professional" year (non-student).
2. How can I get more involved in GradSWE at my university?
Check out our list of active GradSWE groups here to check for your organization. If you do not see your institution listed, please email grad-coordinator@swe.org for help in establishing a GradSWE group.
3. How can I get more involved in the Societal GradSWE team?
There are many ways to get involved in the Societal GradSWE team! For more information and questions, e-mail grad-coordinator@swe.org.

- Sign up for our mailing list here!
- Write a guest post on our Blog.
- Host a YouTube video or podcast interview.
- Develop resources for international students.
- Provide resources for minorities within our group to enhance diversity and inclusion.
- Work on events or resources for students attending graduate school part-time or who are in fast-tracked professional degree programs (M.Eng, MBA, MD, etc).
4. How did you finance your travel to previous SWE Annual Conferences?
- Funding could be grated through the Academic Leadership for Women in Engineering (ALWE) program. Click here for more info.
- Some GradSWE members earn travel funding by the Society through submitting a poster or breakout session abstract.
- Some GradSWE members earn travel funding through their faculty advisors or their university. Approach your department, college, or graduate institute for on-campus funding opportunities.
- Volunteer at the Society conference during their K12 STEM outreach event. Volunteers get reimbursed for a part of their registration costs.
- Apply to participate in the SWE Collegiate Leadership Institute as they offer travel scholarships.
