GradSWE at Conferences

Annual Conferences
Every year the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) holds the world’s largest conference for women engineers. At this conference, GradSWE often organizes different events in which the graduate community can come together and network, learn and collaborate.

During this conference, GradSWE holds an annual business meeting, graduate student reception and several structured sessions on information paramount to excelling as a woman graduate member.

Several examples of the session themes includes:

• Finding Financial Support for Graduate School
• Applying for Academic Jobs
• Thriving as Women in Industry

GradSWE acknowledges the professional development environment at the annual conference, but also advocates for informal networking social events often throughout the conference.  GradSWE also promotes collaboration with other groups in session and programming throughout the conference including Women in Academia (WIA) and Academic Leadership Women Engineer (ALWE).

Conferences provides an outlet for networking, professional development opportunities and career advancement with one of the largest career fairs geared toward women engineers.

Next year's annual conference, WE18 will take place on October 18-20, 2018 in Minneapolis, MN, USA. Details will be posted for WE18 as soon as it becomes available.  

WE Local Conferences

SWE also advocates for more local opportunities for women to connect during WE Local conferences. Similarly, at the WE Local conferences GradSWE hosts different sessions and events geared toward the graduate student community.
